Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), American supplier of flexible honing tools and industrial brushes, announces technical article and video about Made in the USA wire end brushes. On-line resources explain how to select these power brushes for cleaning, polishing, blending, deburring, surface preparation, and surface finishing.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) - Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), leading supplier of surface finishing solutions, is announcing a new technical article and video about how to select wire end brushes. The California manufacturer is a full line supplier of industrial brush tools, and supports hundreds of distributors across the United States and in over 50 countries worldwide.

Wire end brushes are used for removing slag and scale, polishing molds and dies, cleaning castings, and preparing metal surfaces for welding. Applications include blending, burr removal, cleaning, polishing, and surface improvement. Typically, these power brushes are used with hand-held power tools such as electric drills. Some BRM wire end brushes are also used with CNC equipment.

How to Select Wire End Brush Tools

As BRM’s new technical article explains, industrial buyers need to consider filament material and wire size during brush tool selection. Both carbon steel end brushes and stainless steel end brushes are available in various wire sizes. Often, carbon steel brush tools are used with softer metals such as brass or copper. Stainless steel brushes are used with aluminum, stainless steel, and higher-strength alloys.

In general, buyers should select end brushes with the smallest possible wire size. “Smaller filaments provide more cutting tips per square inch,” the BRM technical article explains, “and last longer than larger-diameter filaments because of wire fatigue.” Brush tool selection depends on multiple factors, however, as well as operating parameters such as maximum free safe speed (MFSS).

Both the on-line article and BRM’s new video also describe how wire end brushes are available in various tool diameters. For example, solid wire end brushes come in sizes ranging from 1/2” to 1”. Industrial buyers can also selected knotted wire end brushes for more aggressive brushing applications, such as removing carbon deposits from heads.

As BRM’s technical resources explain, both solid wire and knotted wire end brushes are also available with coated cup-style bodies. In deep well applications, the coated cup protects adjoining surfaces from marring and scratching. Industrial buyers can also choose banded wire end brushes for less flare and more control of filament tips. Circular flared brushes for side cutting action are also available.
