Tripoxy Mineral consists of a mixture of crushed stone and epoxy bonding agent. They weigh less than aluminum and the vibration dampening is 10 times better than cast iron. This means that a good surface quality is achieved even on those workpieces that are clamped and machined in the upper part of the tombstone. The working space can thus be exploited to the full, even for difficult jobs. Good vibration dampening, furthermore, is beneficial for the machine's life.

The thermal expansion is similar to that of steel, but thermal transfer is considerably slower than that of metals. There is a further advantage in that the relatively soft material of the mineral tombstone gives way if there is a collision with the machine spindle. Only the tombstone needs to be replaced, or it may even be possible to continue the operation with other tombstones. If, in contract, the spindle is damaged, the costs resulting from the machine failure can be very high.

More than twenty standard molds are currently available. The cross-tombstone, which provides optimal spindle accessibility for three-sided machining, should be particularly mentioned here. The side faces are ground, and have hardened M12/12F7 positioning sockets.
