The new YB100 coated carbide grade from Sumitomo is the most versatile of its kind in the metal cutting industry, according to the manufacturer. Featuring substrate, edge honing and fine TiCN CVD coating, the YB100 is capable of meeting the needs of a wide range of turning and boring applications. The YB100 can go from finish turning steels and stainless steels to roughing cast iron.
Sumitomo adds that the qualities of the YB100 also contribute to its longer life, increased productivity and smooth surface finishes.
