Dedicated milling insert grades GC2030 and GC2040 are said to provide a 20% productivity improvement in milling of stainless steels.
GC2030 is well suited for austenitic and duplex stainless steels and other sticky materials, while GC2040 is targeted for extra abrasive ferritic/martensitic stainless steels, titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, and precipitation-hardening materials.
Both grades are available in roughing and finishing geometries, and, according to the manufacturer, both work equally well wet or dry.
