The wheels' sol-gel abrasives discard microscopic crystals during use, creating fresh grinding surfaces during operation. The wheels also use engineered grain spacing technology, which controls grain spacing to match requirements of the grinding application. According to the company, the wheels provide multiple processing advantages, including free cutting, longer wheel life, lower power consumption, elimination of burning, and easier dressing.
