The Dimplebar anti-vibration boring bar is said to minimize chatter in large-overhang boring operations, resulting in improved surface finishes and longer tool life. Designed to offer improved damping properties without affecting bar strength, the tools have a unique cross section that suppresses deflection while the lightweight head damps vibration. The bars' silver colored body is the result of a nickel-base coating said to be more rust-resistant than black oxide coating. The tools use triangular inserts, and are available in five shank diameters from 8 mm to 20 mm.
