Lenox metalcutting bandsaw blades can be "Mercurized" for better tooth penetration, easier chip formation, and longer life on moderate- to difficult-to-cut materials. The enhanced mechanical design of Mercurized blades is said to reduce the actual cross section being cut, resulting in fewer blade changes and faster cutting through work-hardened zones. The process can be applied to several Lenox bandsaw blade products, including Production Band, Contestor, Tri-master, and Contestor GTA. Blades are available in widths from 1 to 3 in.
