Blind Mark Tool Uses Magnets To Locate Electrical Box Behind Drywall

Clinton Township, MI - Blind Mark has introduced a new patented drywall tool designed to save time, money and improve the quality of drywall projects by allowing any do-it-yourselfer (DIY) to easily and quickly locate electrical boxes behind drywall and paneling. Each Blind Mark kit consists of a target, which is placed into the electrical box prior to drywall installation, and a target locator, which finds the target after installation through the use of magnetic attraction.

How Blind Mark works:

To use the Blind Mark tool, place a target magnet in the electrical box prior to covering with paneling or drywall. Two studs located on the back of the target fit into the screw holes located in the plastic box. Next, install the drywall or paneling. When you're ready to cut the hole, simply hold the target locator magnet over the area where you think the electrical box is located. When you find the box, the magnets will attract and the target locator magnet will snap to the wall opposite the target magnets inside the electrical box. Trace an outline around the locator and then remove it. Use a drywall saw or electrical rotary cutter to cut out the hole; remove the cutout and the inside Blind Mark target and you're done.

"Using the Blind Mark couldn't be simpler," says Blind Mark inventor Dave Crorey. "It eliminates all the guess work from cutting out your access holes to your electrical boxes. You save time, avoid waste, and save on the cost of spackle and tape that you would have to use on those bad measurements."
