Mount Prospect, IL - Sumitomo has achieved great success with their new BNX25 grade of PCBN inserts. The BNX25 proves economical with a special single tipped PCBN with "NS" styles. The sumiBoron line of quality PCBN inserts is Sumitomo's answer to high-speed interrupted and continuous cutting applications. The engineers at Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. have developed a unique brazing technology to achieve bonding strength that is second to none. Fact is, sumiBoron inserts can extend tool life by up to seven times when compared to ceramics.

The superior thermal resistance and performance of Sumitomo's PCBN inserts produce super smooth surface finishes in both wet and dry cutting conditions. The BNX special brazing technology with superior bonding strength enhances stable machining.

Several grades of inserts are available to fit the specific needs of different high-speed cutting applications. BNX25, BNX10, BNX20, BN250 or BN300 inserts are ideal for turning of hardened steels, while Sumitomo's BN600 insert is designed especially for turning or milling gray and alloyed cast irons.
