CPGT inserts for boring bars have a ground periphery with a pressed chipbreaker. The 80° diamond, 0.375-in IC inserts are available in uncoated, PVD-coated, and CVD-coated versions, with nose radii of 0.003, 0.007, 0.015, and 0.031 in.
Boring bars are available with 5/8- and 3/4-in diameter steel or carbide shanks. They can bore in holes as small as 0.680 in. diam. Users can choose left- or right-hand versions with 5° positive lead angles and coolant through capability. Metric sizes for boring in holes as small as 17.35 mm diam are also available.
