The WK2 broken tool detector offers torque- and speed-controlled scanning in a probe-type tool monitor, resulting in a fast and constant cycle time independent of needle length and without affecting the tool contact.

The device features a shavings deflector that seals the gap between the rotating probe assembly and the sensor body, eliminating buildup. A steel housing withstands chemical and mechanical abuse and is sealed to IP68 (650-ft water depth).

The detector checks one tool or free space from 15° to 270° in left- or right--hand scanning mode. Tool setup is includes a "teach" procedure and one-time learn cycle. Other features include solid-state electronics that interface directly with machine controllers, internal system monitoring, and six status LEDs that can simplify work for operators and maintenance personnel.
