Carboloy to Emphasize Shop-Proven Cutting Tools at Westec 2000

Carboloy Inc. (Detroit, MI) will showcase its milling, turning, and special tools designed to boost productivity while simultaneously lowering costs at Westec 2000. Products run the gamut from octagonal milling inserts to specialized holemaking tools.

Leading the list are two additions to Carboloy's line of Octomill facemills, which use eight-sided inserts that reduce costs per cutting edge by about 50% compared with conventional square inserts. Also on display will be Mini Square endmills, which are part of a milling family that also includes Midi and Maxi sizes. The tools use positive-geometry cutters for maximum economy and easy cutting, and feature integrated anvils to protect the cutter body if an insert breaks. They are designed for true 90-deg slotting, contouring, and square-shoulder machining at lighter depths of cut.

Also on display will be the 220.60 series of facemills, designed for heavy-duty machining operations. New rough and finish facemilling cutters for machining cast iron automotive parts will be featured. The milling display is rounded out with Carboloy's extensive package of cutters that meet all the requirements for mold and die copy milling.

The turning area will feature the company's Multi Directional Turning (MDT) tools, which combine an MDT toolholder with a single indexable carbide insert to perform a wide range of turning operations. Carboloy will also show its TX100 and TX150 turning grades for machining cast irons, as well as Secomax CBN300 for roughing and finish machining of a wide range of cast irons and roughing of hardened steel at high metal removal rates. Advanced grades for the aerospace industry will also be featured.

The holemaking portion of the booth will feature Perfomax drills, which offer a combination of high feedrates, long tool life, exceptional hole quality, low cost per cutting edge, and reduced inventory. Also on display will be BIFIX reamers, a line of indexable carbide insert reaming tools designed for precision reaming in all materials, and EPB Graflex precision modular tooling systems.
