Floating tap holders from this company can last up to 40% longer than conventional holders in harsh production environments such as cast iron machining, allowing manufacturers to reduce tooling costs and improve machining quality.

The tools' three-piece construction — shank, float sleeve, and driver — features precision-ground surfaces for parallelism within 0.0002-in. A rust-preventive coating also contributes to extended wear.

The holders have a radial float of 0.03125-in. to compensate for misalignments between the spindle and previously drilled holes in a workpiece, reducing tool breakage and improving tapping accuracy. They can be applied to a wide range of shank styles, including, acme threaded, straight, Morse taper, and V-flange. Special designs also are available, and all holders are compatible with coolant-through spindles.
