With the ability to hold tools within 50 millionths TIR, the µmatic high-precision chuck has clamping surfaces that are ground directly from the toolholder body. It can hold a cutting tool within 0.0002 in. TIR without adjustments, and incorporates truing screws that contact the tool shank directly, which allows adjustments to within 50 millionths either on a presetter or in the machine spindle.
The chucks are suitable for rough and finish milling and can be used in holemaking applications that usually require hydraulic chuck or boring operations. Features include a patented vibration-damping structure that interrupts transmission of helical vibrations and increases rpm and feed rates and a locking screw that puts an end to tool pullout.
