The units use hybrid silicon-nitride ball bearings to deliver high accuracy, rigidity, and bearing life and to help stabilize spindle temperature. Other features include an air/oil system that requires a low volume of lubricant, permanent grease lubrication, liquid cooling for the motor and front bearing, coolant through the spindle shaft, and a tool flange arranged for a manual or automatic tool change system.
