Acknowledging that jobber drills, a staple for many general holemaking tasks, have received little or no product improvement throughout the industry, Dormer Tools, a leading manufacturer of HSS cutting tools, has introduced the 001 Jobber Drill line that features advanced helix design and wider flutes for faster chip removal; a unique special point to achieve greater position accuracy; and an improved web design for enhanced strength and rigidity. In tests that have been conducted, the 001 has achieved productivity levels up to 20% above existing jobber drills on certain materials, and closer to performances associated with more expensive application drills. The 001 comes with the Dormer "Silver Ring" for ease of identification and has steam tempered bronze and black finish for distinctive appearance among jobber drills.
