LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4800 High Temperature, Low CTE Tooling Foam To Be Highlighted By General Plastics Manufacturing Co. At SAMPE 2019 Conference And Exhibition

Tacoma, WA (PRWEB) - General Plastics Manufacturing Co. will be exhibiting at the upcoming SAMPE 2019 Conference and Exhibition, on May 20-23, 2019 in Charlotte, NC. Show attendees can drop by Booth T30 where the company will showcase its newest product, the LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4800 tooling board, various rigid foam core materials such as its FST/OSU-compliant FR-3800 foam core, and custom-molded parts capabilities.

High Temperature, Low CTE Tooling Board
A new addition to General Plastics’ wide range of high-performing tooling boards is LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4800 tooling board. The FR-4800 can be used with high-temperature resin systems, in high-pressure autoclaves and fiber-reinforced composites. It is thermally-stable, and can withstand peak temperatures up to 480°F (249°C) and continuous use temperatures up to 400°F (204°C). It is ideal for use in the production of high-tolerance complex shapes and parts due to its predictable and repeatable CTE, which is equivalent to that of aluminum. The LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4500 and FR-4700 are among other tooling boards that will also be featured at the show. All tooling boards are dimensionally stable, non-abrasive and machines well.

Fire, Smoke, Toxicity and Heat-Release Compliant Foam Core
Another General Plastics innovation is the halogen-free LAST-A-FOAM® FR-3800 FST polyurethane foam core which satisfies fire, smoke and toxicity (FST) requirements and Ohio State University (OSU) heat release standards, and is compliant with the European Union’s REACH regulation. Due to its unique formulation, physical properties and fire safety properties are retained when used in various aircraft interior applications such as core material for first class seating pods, door panels, passenger cabin class dividers, and other lightweight flyaway parts.

Custom Molded Parts Capabilities
General Plastics will also feature molding and parts fabrication capabilities at the SAMPE show. The company’s high-capacity production facilities enable it to scale production from small runs to specialty parts, to ongoing, high-volume parts programs. Parts are custom-molded and fabricated to customer specifications using high-density flexible and semi-flexible polyurethane LAST-A-FOAM® materials.

General Plastics Manufacturing Company has been a long-standing supporter of SAMPE. Every year the company looks forward to connecting with engineers, designers and professionals at the event, and having meaningful discussions on current and future projects as well as where the composites industry is headed.
