ISCAR Metals, Inc.o cover most common machining operations, the Chameleon line of cutting tools was designed to increase production efficiency. This concept provides a method of clamping various inserts on the same holder.

The four series are Chamturn, Chammill, Chamgroove, and Chamdrill.

  • The Chamturn line consists of toolholders for turning, each having a single pocket that can hold an insert shape. Inserts come in a choice of advanced coating grades.
  • The Chamgroove line is designed for efficient mini-grooving and turning for internal tasks. It uses a variety of insert types and widths that can be mounted on a single boring bar. The minimum bore diameter is 8 mm. The inserts have teeth-like positioning elements for right- or left-hand machining operations on the same holder.
  • Chammill inserts are used for milling operations, and the cutters have a pocket configuration in which octagonal, round, square, or 45-degree facing or chamfering inserts can be mounted.
  • For drilling small-diameter holes, the Chamdrill system uses an indexable-type drill body onto which a variety of drill heads and shapes can be mounted. Each head has a dovetail-shaped base that fits into a special recess in the drill body to provide simple and quick clamping.
