Makita Releases Two New 5'' Flathead Grinders For The XGT System

New Flathead Grinders feature a lower profile for more access in tight spaces

Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released two new 40V max 5” Flathead Grinders (GAG15 with slide switch, and the GAG16 with a paddle switch, each sold separately) that deliver the power of a 13 AMP corded grinder and have a category-leading low profile design for work in tight spaces.

The GAG15 and GAG16 give users two powerful and portable grinders that feature a low-profile 39° flathead design that delivers up to 45% more access in tight spaces when compared to a conventional full-profile angle grinder. Both Grinders have a variable 5-speed control dial for RPM adjustments (3,000-9,000 RPM) to match the speed of the application.

Additional Features
Both the GAG15 and GAG16 feature Active Feedback-Sensing Technology (AFT), which turns the motor off if the rotation of the wheel is suddenly forced to stop. They also feature anti-restart protection that is engineered to prevent motor start-up when the battery is inserted with the switch locked on.

Convenience Features
The new Flathead Grinders feature a tool-less wheel guard designed for faster guard installations and adjustments. They also have a removable dust cover that helps protect the motor from dust and debris. The Side Handle Adapter (327405-2) is also included, which extends the grip length for increased user maneuverability.
