New corner radius inserts for CoroMill 390 milling cutters offer improved productivity over a wider range of precision applications, especially aerospace and die and mold metalworking
Sandvik Coromant Companyorner radius inserts for CoroMill 390 milling cutters offer improved productivity over a wider range of precision applications, especially aerospace and die and mold metalworking.
The expanded line of corner radius inserts includes both 11- and 17-mm thicknesses. The 11-mm inserts' radii range from 0.008 to 0.122 in. in eight steps. The 17-mm inserts' feature radii from 0.016 to 0.250 in. in 12 different steps.
Typical applications include shoulder milling jobs requiring different radii, 5-axis machining of turbine blades, jobs requiring stronger corners, and profiling with endmills. Combined with the company's CoroMill 390 precision cutter, the inserts are said to provide an estimated 20% improvement in productivity.
