New Rotary Hammer From Metabo Offers Increased Versatility In Drilling And Demolition Applications

West Chester, PA - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has expanded its line of powerful rotary hammers to include a new model that provides increased power and versatility, as well as user comfort and safety. The versatile KHE 96 combination hammer allows users to quickly and easily move between masonry drilling and demolition applications without switching tools.
The new KHE 96 SDS-Max rotary hammer is ideal for drilling large diameter holes into the hardest masonry materials, as well as for heavy chiseling. The KHE 96 offers high rotational torque of 1062 inch-lbs and variable impact energy from 1.0 to 27.0 joules per blow. Its optimum drilling range is 1" to 2" using solid bits, and 6" using core bits.
Designed for comfort and safety, the rotary hammer's Metabo VibraTech (MVT) side handle and rear handle feature active vibration dampening construction and rubber grips, helping to reduce user fatigue and discomfort. The Metabo S-automatic safety clutch and extra long side handle protect against kick-back. An additional mounting point for the side handle at the rear of the tool allows for more comfortable control of the tool when working vertically.
When using the tool in impact only, the chisel can be locked into 16 different positions allowing for excellent ergonomics.
The 15 amp motor has a no-load variable speed of 125 rpm to 250 rpm, and 0 bpm to 1950 bpm. Metabo's Vario-Tacho-Constamatic electronic speed control enables the tool to maintain a virtually constant rate of impact and speed between no-load and load for maximum drilling speed. To protect the gear mechanism and motor from overheating, the overload clutch limits the maximum amount of torque applied if the tool blocks during operation.
To increase its service life, the KHE 96 features a tough aluminum die-cast gear housing, auto-stop carbon brushes with service indicator light, a spring-loaded lip seal to prevent dust penetration, a winding protection grid and a durable pneumatic high-performance hammer mechanism.
The KHE 96 measures 27-3/4", weighs 28 lbs and comes standard with a carrying case, "D" side handle and an extra long anti-vibration straight handle, as well as bit grease and wiping cloth.
