Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tools include standard center-cutting endmills that allow plunging, plus flat-bottom mills and "specials" such as form, threading, chamfering, and countersinking tools. The tools are manufactured to tolerances of –0/+0.002 in., and each tool is marked with its specific diameter or radius to facilitate programming. All tools have a recess (clearance) above the cutting edge to permit milling of deep walls. Standard ballnose and flat-bottom mills range from 1/8 in. to ¾ in. diam; other sizes or dimensions can be custom fabricated.
