A full line of high-performance indexable inserts for Command/Urma modular boring systems feature high-positive chipbreakers to minimize cutting pressures and eliminate chatter, leading to extended tool life. The inserts are available in styles for roughing, finishing, chamfering, and grooving many work materials, including aluminum, all types of steels, brass, and other metals as well as plastic and plastic composites.
The Command/Urma inserts use several different cutting media, including cemented carbide, double- and triple-coated CVD carbide, PVD-coated and uncoated cermets, and polycrystalline diamond. They come in a large variety of nose radii including finishing sizes from 0.004, 0.008, and 0.016 in. and roughing sizes from 0.016, 0.031, 0.047 in.
Urma precision boring tools cover a wide range of sizes with Alpha or Beta connection systems. There are the MicroMax fine boring head, in sizes from 0.036 to 1.575 in.; the VersaMax, from 0.875 to 6 in.; the IntraMax, from 3.5 to 8.1 in.; and the MegaMax, from 6 to31 in.
