Fair Lawn, NJ - Sandvik Coromant's GC1125 is a new general purpose grade that improves performance in parting, grooving, turning and profiling operations across a wide geometry range.

Sandvik Coromant GC1125 enables machine shops to do more with one grade, offering performance benefits to a greater number of machining operations. Designed to meet the challenging demands of the CoroCut 1-2 edge system, GC1125 is ideal for applications in steel and stainless steels, and excels when machining cast iron and heat resistant super alloys.

GC1125's capabilities stem from a breakthrough in coating and substrate technologies. A new PVD coating with multi-TiAIN layers combines with fine-grained substrate to deliver a wider application area, as well as a capacity to handle increased cutting data. The result is improved wear and plastic deformation resistance with higher security, allowing the option of running at higher cutting speeds or for a longer time in cut.
