Sandvik Coromant launches next generation CoroDrill ® 860 for ISO P material

Querétaro /PRNewswire/ - Global metal cutting leader Sandvik Coromant launches an updated range of its CoroDrill® 860 solid carbide drill , increasing customer productivity in steel drilling operations. Advanced -PM geometry provides high performance drilling operations in ISO P steels while dramatically improving tool life.

The CoroDrill® 860 drill with -PM geometry has a new grade with improved multi-layer Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating. The result of these innovations is improved wear resistance, longer tool life, an overall increase in productivity, and therefore lower cost per part. The drill is perfect for common applications in the automotive industry, general engineering, mold and die industries, and power generation.

The tool is available in standard diameters from 3 mm (0.12 inches) to 16 mm (0.63 inches). In addition, custom tools are available to customize the drill to suit the user's specific machining requirements. For further extended tool life and a more sustainable machining strategy, the CoroDrill® 860-PM drill is eligible for Sandvik Coromant's tool reconditioning programme . After completing its useful life cycle, the tool can become part of the Sandvik Coromant recycling program .
