Tesla Motor Inc. Invest In The XS Gantry Mill

Gruppo Parpas have a reputation of manufacturing machines that offer manufacturers outstanding surface finishes as well as high precision machining. They are based near Venice, Italy and have been producing medium to large machining centres for companies throughout the world for many years.

One of their customers being Tesla Motors, based in America, which most of you will know them for their luxury electric cars, electric vehicle powertrain components and battery products. The company currently have an XS gantry machining centre for their mould and die plant.

The XS gantry mill can machine parts up to 20M long and has a wide range of tools and attachments. It has the capability of interchanging high speed and high torque spindle cartridges which offer maximum flexibility for processing heavy and complex components.

There is presence in the U.K. of two XS gantry machines in a Birmingham based company manufacturing automotive mould and die components.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of the ROLLER 5-axis high-speed portal-type machining centre at a local engineering company. The machining centre has a 1M x 1M square rotary table fitted and is capable of carrying up to 3,000kg. To control thermal growth of the spindle carried and maintain absolute accuracy at the tool point, the linear motor assembly is cooled by four separate chilling circuits.

With already a strong presence of the brand in the U.K. we are delighted to add this machine to an ever-growing portfolio within the U.K. manufacturing scene.
