Thread hobs are manufactured in both solid carbide and steel shank/brazed carbide tip versions. The tools are fabricated from micrograin carbide for good strength, long life, and good repeatability. Hobs are available uncoated or with TiN coating, in either full- form or stagger tooth designs. Users can choose from straight or spiral flute hobs. Sizes from 0.110 in. to 2.000 in. diam are standard; the company also manufactures special thread hobs to user specifications.
