Two Profiled Roughing Experts

With the MC319 Advance and the MC320 Advance, Walter AG is introducing two solid carbide milling cutter ranges to the market which are specially designed to meet the requirements of roughing operations.

The newly developed knurled profile, which guarantees an even longer tool life, is used in both milling cutter ranges. Together with the MC320 Advance or MC320 ConeFit, users receive three to eight cutting edges, depending on the diameter of the tool, and a centre cutting edge. The Tübingen-based precision tool manufacturer provides an internal coolant supply together with the MC319 Advance four-edge drill. Yet another feature is the in-house Walter coating.

The result was two incredibly powerful and, thanks to the extremely wear-resistant knurled profile, highly robust roughing tools. The new milling cutter ranges are suited to a variety of materials and can therefore be used universally. The milling cutters' power requirement (spindle output) during machining is around 30 per cent lower than comparable tools with smooth cutting edges. The reason for this is their redesigned profile. The milling cutters enable full slotting of up to twice the diameter with very short chips, a high metal removal rate and an especially smooth milling process. Ideal for unstable working conditions as well as all users who need to conduct demanding roughing operations, such as in general mechanical engineering.
