Chelmsford, MA (Vocus/PRWEB) - Selecting the correct tool holder for your torque arm is vital to the correct implementation of your torque arm application. Many torque arm providers as well as SmartMotion use a standard universal compression style clamp which is designed to meet a wide variety of different manufactures tool body diameters. For example the SmartMotion ATH-2540 is an adjustable tool holder that has a clamping range of 25 to 40 mm. However, the body design of some tools does not allow for proper clamping due to curves or angles in the body of the tool and which can in some cases force the clamp to be placed in an area that can interfere with the operators natural grip to the tool. For these types of applications SmartMotion uses aluminum sleeves designed for that specific tool body to ensure that the tool is secured properly and not to interfere with the operator.
Here is an example using the Kolver FAB03SS/FR Screwdriver. Because this is a clutch style shut-off tool one would not want to clamp around the clutch adjustment area and clamping up higher could interfere with the grip of the operator. To solve this issue we recommend the use of the ADS-2201 (aluminum sleeve) and a VTH-0056 tool holder.
The ADS-2201 is machined specifically to the angles of the FAB03SS/FR and provides a flat clamping area with a new outside diameter of 56 mm. which allows for the VTH-0056 to properly secure the tool.
SmartMotion has ADS Sleeves for Kolver, Atlas Copco,CP Desoutter, and Hios and we can custom make an ADS Sleeve to fit any tool. For more information on the SmartMotion product line please contact your local KolverUSA sales representative.
