REGO-FIX Develops a New Balanceable Toolholder System
For smooth operation at higher rpms, holders must be balanced to meet the specifications set by machine and tooling manufacturers. REGO-FIX's new, patented, balancing ring system will help manufacturers and machine shops meet these balancing requirements.
The new REGO-FIX ring system can be added to any standard REGO-FIX holder that has the necessary mounting surface. All holders currently being manufactured by REGO-FIX will accept the new rings. While the design of the new holders, which are now our standard holders, has changed, the end user will get the same REGO-FIX quality with added features at the same price as the standard holders purchased in the past. These new holders are pre-balanced to G6.3 @ 15,000 rpm. To balance at a higher rating, secure the rings to the toolholder and run the tool through a balancing cycle in a balancing machine.
What separates this new system from other balanceable systems on the market?
- Rings can be added to the new holders at any time.
- There is no need to buy additional, expensive, balanceable holders.
- There are no annoying weighted metal balls or screws to keep track of or lose.
- The system is compatible with most balancing machines on the market.
- Longer holders are set up for dual plane balancing.
- With the new system, you are able to balance holders up to 42,000 rpm.
- Rings are made to the tightest tolerances in the industry.
- Our balancing system is more reliable and repeatable than any other balancing system.
Other balancing systems on the market require the use of a complicated series of setscrews or weighted metal balls to aid in the balancing of the holders. These complex holders have only a few holes located in a radial, axial or even angled hole pattern, making the balancing very difficult to do. Most other systems have only a limited amount of compensation that can be applied to any one point (the weight of ball/screw #1 minus the weight of ball/screw #2, etc.). The new REGO-FIX ring system is infinitely adjustable to allow for compensation in any location around the holder. The rings are pressed onto the holder by hand and snapped into place by a patented retention system. Each ring has a setscrew to lock the ring into place once its location is determined. The setscrew is even manufactured so that it cannot come out during operation, providing the operator a greater level of safety and confidence.
The new REGO-FIX balanceable toolholder system will save manufacturers and machine shops time since balancing can be accomplished in a fraction of the time of other balancing systems – no more "This screw plus this ball equals ‘X' amount of compensation." The cost savings will be noticed immediately when our standard toolholders are converted into a balanceable toolholders by upgrading to the balancing rings. There is no longer a need to buy expensive and complicated toolholders that require setscrews or weighted metal balls. Balancing your toolholder has never been easier, more cost-effective, or as precise.
