Rockwell's New Dynamic 20-Volt Brushless Drill-Driver Includes 10-Year Motor Warranty

Brushless

The new Rockwell 20V MaxLithium Brushless Drill-Driver’s motor increases battery run time by up to 50 percent per charge over standard brushed motors. The brushless motor has computer-controlled power distribution, which improves motor efficiency and durability by reducing heat, friction and wear.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) - Do-it-yourselfers and tradesmen in the market for a new cordless drill should take notice of Rockwell’s 20V Brushless Drill-driver. The compact and lightweight (3.7 lbs. with battery) tool provides easy access in limited clearance areas. The drill-driver has a short headstock and overmold on the back of the handle for a steady, comfortable grip. The drill also includes a belt clip for securing the tool when not in use. Plus, Rockwell’s brushless motor features a 10-year warranty versus 3 years for brushed motors.

“The real cost of cordless power tools today is the expense of replacement batteries, which can add up over the life of the tool,” said Jeanne White, Rockwell’s Senior Product Manager. “Our new brushless drill-driver is a very efficient performer and its cost of ownership is minimal when compared to other manufacturers’ brushless drills.”

Brushless motors are more expensive to build due to their internal components. The Rockwell 20V Brushless drill-driver costs approximately 15 to 30 percent more than a comparable standard brushed drill-driver. However, when factoring the tool’s longevity and longer run time, plus Rockwell’s Free Batteries For Life program, the real cost difference is minimal. In fact, owning a Rockwell cordless tool saves the owner up to 70 percent versus competitors’ due to battery replacement costs.

Inside the brushless drill-driver’s body, carbon brushes have been eliminated altogether to create a motor that’s maintenance free. The new electrically commutated motor reduces noise, friction, heat build-up and wear for longer motor life. Precise internal software controls (smart chips) provide the electromagnetic current for the most efficient conversion of electricity into mechanical energy. Since less energy is wasted, battery power lasts longer.

The brushless drill-driver is powered by a 20V MaxLithium, 2.0 Ah battery for longer run time and high working efficiency. The battery also affords more charge cycles with minimal self-discharge. The two-speed gearbox has no-load speeds of 0-600 and 0-2000. Its maximum torque is 531 in./lbs. The ½ in. metal chuck has 18+1 clutch positions to handle a variety of drilling and driving jobs. The drill also features an LED light to illuminate the work area. The light stays on for about 10 seconds once the trigger is released. The tool’s drilling capacity in wood is 1-1/2 in. and ½ in. in steel.

The 20V brushless drill-driver includes two 2.0 Ah lithium-ion batteries, a one-hour charger and one double-ended bit and soft bag for storage. The drill-driver is covered by Rockwell’s 3-year warranty and the motor has a 10-year warranty. Once the tool is registered, it’s eligible for Rockwell’s Batteries For Life program.

The Rockwell 20V Lithium-ion Brushless Drill-Driver(RK2852K2, $179.99) is available at http://www.rockwelltools.com and Menards and Menards.com. Coming in September, the brushless lineup continues to include the Rockwell Hammer Drill (RK2853K2, $219.99) and Impact Driver (RK2860K2, $199.99), along with a combination kit of the Drill and Impact Driver (RK1807K2, $279.99).
