SelfLube Goes Big With Gibs, Bushings And Wear Strips

In order to keep up with the trends of the tooling industry, SelfLube will be manufacturing larger versions of its standard part numbers.

Coopersville, MI (PRWEB) - SelfLube, the leading U.S. manufacturer of mold and die components, is gearing up to produce larger and heavier versions of its existing product line of precision bushings, gibs, wear strips and related items. Customer demand is driving this. The trend in the industry is towards larger and more complex tools, which often require bigger and heavier components.

"Formerly we were constrained to what an operator could reasonably lift in and out of a machine. Going beyond a certain point created a safety issue. This caused a lot of frustration. Too often we were forced to no-quote things that we otherwise could have easily made," explains SelfLube Owner Phil Allor. "We looked at a lot of lifting gadgets over years. None were satisfactory. We finally decided to design something ourselves. What we came up with is something that does the job but is also simple and compact and can easily be moved out of the way when its needed."

With the size constraint removed, SelfLube will be able to manufacture a much broader range of sizes. This will in turn allow SelfLube to expand its standard offerings. It will also increase SelfLube's capability to do custom work, which is often a larger version of an existing part number. And finally and most importantly, with fewer constraints on component size, SelfLube customers will have greater flexibility in designing and building the best tools possible.

SelfLube manufactures precision components, both conventional and self-lubricating, used in molds, dies and special machines. Its product line of well over 10,000 standard part numbers includes wear plates, wear strips, bushings, gibs, parting line locks, lifter slides and related items. SelfLube's full product line can be viewed on the company's website along with cad models of each part number.
